Craig Harvie
Founder and Director
Craig Harvie is the founder and a Director of Eden Legal Limited. He advises landowners, farmers, and family and privately owned businesses across Scotland on rural land, agricultural and commercial matters.
Craig has extensive experience acting for landowners on the acquisition, disposal and structuring of farms, estates and rural property, together with advice on agricultural tenancies, options and promotion arrangements, renewable energy and diversification projects, servitudes and access rights, and infrastructure-related transactions. He is known for providing clear, commercially-focused advice that reflects the practical realities of land ownership and rural business.
In addition to rural property work, Craig has a strong commercial contracts practice. He regularly drafts, negotiates and advises on the interpretation of bespoke business-to-business contracts, acting primarily for landowners and owner-managed and family businesses. His work often involves long-term or high-value arrangements where risk allocation, clarity of drafting and future-proofing are critical.
A significant element of Craig’s practice involves advising clients on strategic and long-term planning, including rural diversification, renewable energy projects, business restructuring and succession planning. He works closely with clients and their other professional advisers to deliver tailored solutions, often supporting the same clients over many years and across generations.
Craig founded Eden Legal to provide a focused, partner-led service for rural and private clients, combining technical expertise with accessibility, commercial insight and practical judgement. He has also completed formal mediator training, which informs his pragmatic and resolution-focused approach to negotiations and dispute-sensitive matters.
